While it is important to know what is included in every bottle of supplements, it is equally important to assure what is not included and why.
No Gluten: Gluten is a protein found in wheat, barley and rye. Some people develop intolerance to gluten which may result in a condition known as Coeliac Disease. In such cases ingesting gluten can lead to damage of the lining of the small intestine. This basically results in weakening of the immune system since essential nutrients and vitamins are not absorbed properly. The Dr. Rath Synergy Formulas do not contain gluten.
No Yeast: Yeast infections are caused by an overgrowth of the normal yeast in the body, so foods that affect the yeast levels may contribute to a yeast infection. The Dr. Rath Synergy Formulas are free of yeasts.
No MSG: MSG (monosodium glutamate) is used as a flavor enhancer in many packaged foods. It is classified as excitotoxin, which generally means that it may aggravate or precipitate many neurological disorders and cause other allergic reactions, some of which may be serious or life threatening. The Dr. Rath Synergy Formulas do not contain MSG.
No Trans-fats: Unsaturated fats (vegetable oils) can be chemically modified by hydrogenation to make them more solid at room temperature. This process generates formation of artificial trans-fats which have many unwanted health effects. Trans-fats are widely used because they reduce cost and increase the shelf life, flavor and stability of foods. The Dr. Rath CellulSynregy Formulas do not contain hydrogenated oils and trans-fats.
No Dairy: Many people are allergic or intolerant to milk products. The Dr. Rath Synergy Formulas do not contain dairy ingredients.
No Wheat: Wheat is a common allergen. The Dr. Rath Synergy Formulas do not contain wheat.
No Peanuts: Peanuts are common allergens. The Dr. Rath Synergy Formulas do not contain peanuts or peanut ingredients.
Allergens-free: Our products are generally free from most common allergens. In case of individuals allergic to fish, crab and soy, please note that some of our formulas contain natural ingredients from these sources. Please check the ingredients list of each product.
No Artificially Sourced Colors and Flavors: In the United States, more than 3,000 substances can be added to foods for the purpose of preservation, coloring, texture, increasing flavor and more. Many nutritional supplements contain artificial colors and flavors to enhance attractiveness and commercial appeal of their products. While the use of each of these substances is legal, their consumption in food has been associated with many adverse health effects, including headaches, allergies and risk of cancers. The Dr. Rath Synergy Formulas use only natural flavors (i.e., citrus flavor) and colors (i.e., beta carotene, vitamin B2).
No BSE: BSE (bovine spongiform encephalopathy) is an illness known as mad cow disease, which is caused by infection. BSE can be transmitted to people if they eat meat products that came from a cow with BSE. If a person eats BSE-infected beef, the person is at a higher risk for getting a human form of the disease called Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD). CJD is a very serious disease that affects the brain but it is very rare in the United States. The Dr. Rath Synergy Formulas are tested for BSE and are safe to use.
No Microbial contamination: High microbial contamination and contamination with pathogens and aflatoxin are potentially unsafe. All raw materials used in the Dr. Synergy Formulas are tested against microbial contamination and are safe.
No Heavy metals: Natural botanicals may contain background levels of heavy metals because heavy metals are naturally occurring in soil and water. All herbal and plant originating raw materials used in the Dr. Rath Synergy Formulas are tested to ensure that they do not contain heavy metal impurities; trace amounts remain below legally recognized safe levels. Our fish oil is mercury free.
No GMO’s: There are reported and also unknown harmful effects of both plant and animal GMO origin. Unfortunately, much of the world’s supply of corn and soybeans are genetically modified which is why we take special precautions to provide you natural products that are certified GMO-free. We do not use GMO crops as raw materials.
No Irradiation: Irradiation is used to kill bacteria. But irradiation also has side effects, transforming the natural components in herbs and botanicals into unnatural molecules. We reject ingredients which tests indicate sterilization by irradiation.
No Pesticide Residues: The Dr. Rath Synergy Formulas use pesticide-free products.
INFORMATION ABOUT TABLETS, CAPSULES AND PACKAGING OF OUR PRODUCTS
Excipients: Excipients are ingredients that have no nutritional value, but have been added to improve the processing of tablets and capsules or add color. All Dr. Rath Synergy Formulas do not have common mass-market multivitamin excipients like hydrogenated oil, talc, Crospovidone, Butylated Hydroxytoluene, Chromic Chloride, Nickelous Sulfate, Polysorbate 80, Sodium Metavanadate, Sodium Silicaluminate, Sorbic Acid, Triethyl Citrate, Glucose, Polyethylene Glycol, or Lactose Monohydrate. These excipients are designed to make manufacturing processes more efficient and less expensive, but products containing these synthetic excipients can no longer claim to be natural, which is one of the many reasons we do not use them.
Tablets: Our tablets are flavored with a natural citrus flavor, have a natural orange/yellow color from vitamin B2 or beta-carotene and are moisture protected by a coat of natural shellac instead of wax.
Capsules: All capsules are vegetarian and are not the much less expensive pork or bovine capsules. Chlorinated
Compounds: Chlorinated organic compounds are not found in nature. These compounds are toxic and very dangerous. The Dr. Rath Synergy Formulas do not contain chlorinated compounds.
Bottles: All bottles we use to package our tablets and capsules are PCB and Bisphenol A (BPA) free. The white color of the bottles protects the contents from exposure to light, oxidation and moisture. A stability test confirms freshness and shelf life of our products.
Oxidation: Some natural products can be exposed to moisture when stored. To keep this from happening, we include silica-gel packs to remove moisture and keep the product in the bottle as fresh and natural as possible.
