The function of the cells building our eyes and those involved in the vision process require a constant supply of vitamins and other micronutrients. Science shows that various micronutrients and natural plant components are of utmost importance for supporting the vision process. Micronutrients are required for the cells building our eyes; for the optic nerve that carries the signals from the eye cells to the brain; for the (ciliary) muscle cells that stretch and relax to control the focus of the lens; and for the blood vessels responsible for supplying the eyes with oxygen and nutrients.

Alpha lipoic acid is both a water- and fat-soluble antioxidant and therefore is easily transported across cell membranes, enabling it to confer free radical protection both inside and outside cell structures.
Vitamins C and E assist in protecting cells against oxidative stress. In addition, vitamin C participates in regeneration of vitamin E.
